Notes from Summer Camp Parent Meeting May 5

Recommend rain pants/jacket, pants and sweatshirts, closed back water shoes, and flip flops/crocs for hanging out and showers

Duffle bags are preferred for space reasons on the bus

Phones will be collected at camp and stored for the week

Upon arrival in Portland, the troops will get lunch from Panera Bread to eat on the bus. Please submit a lunch order for each camper. Lunch Order Form

FEB 15: Priority registration for a guaranteed spot

MARCH 1: Installment payment of $200 to Meriwether due

MARCH 31: All changes to registration made. Registration or cancellation after this date subject to a late charge or partial refund.

MAY 1: Final balance due (remaining camp fee is $381 (scout) or $103 (adult) if you already paid a $200 installment.

MAY 12: Medical Forms Parts A-C emailed to Lilie Lin
Registration
Complete form for each participating family member. Once registration has been paid, you will receive an invitation to use the Camp Meriwether parent portal to record the participant's information, select merit badge classes, and pay the remaining camp fee. Please also purchase a camp t-shirt for your scout to wear on the return trip home.

Medical Forms
Please login to the parent portal and complete your registration information. Please fill out yours and/or your scout’s medical forms Parts A-C , scan and send a PDF to Lilie Lin by May 12. Access medical forms here.
Travel
We will book group reservations to fly from Houston (IAH) to Portland (PDX) via United Airlines. The group will then travel 2 hours by motor coach to Camp Meriwether. (Due to the optional Oregon adventure add-on, we will make separate group outbound reservations for June 21. This will accommodate those scouts who will travel early for the Oregon adventure.)
Those who choose not to travel with the troop will be responsible for making all travel arrangements to and from Camp Meriwether.
Cost Breakdown
Camp deposit registration - $50 for each camp attendee payable to the Troop to reserve your spot at Camp Meriwether.

Meriwether remaining camp fee - $581 (Scout) or $303 (Adult). Parents may pay Meriwether camp fee directly to camp via the parent portal upon $50 registration payment to the Troop. Other costs including airfare, ground transportation, camp t-shirt, and miscellaneous are payable to the troop.

If traveling with the troop, IAH to PDX group roundtrip airfare is $572.77.

Ground transportation cost is $84.53.
