Double Lake - Coldspring
Come learn wilderness survival skills - make fire without matches, build shelter from natural materials and more. Scouts will have the opportunity to sleep in their shelters on Saturday night (tents will be available for those who choose not to sleep in their shelter). This campout runs from Saturday morning through late Sunday morning.
January 9-10, 2026
Lone Star Flight Museum - Houston
Spend the night at the Lone Star Flight Museum. Sleep under a historic airplane (in a hangar) and earn the Aviation Merit Badge. Cost is $75/participant (rather than $40). This event runs from Friday evening through Saturday morning.
February 6-8, 2026
Camp Karankawa – Lake Jackson
Horseback Riding and Crossover Campout. Scouts will choose between a range of activities (horseback riding, conservation service, leading fun and games with Cub Scouts, building a rope bridge and more); the highlight of this campout will be our traditional crossover campfire and ceremony, in which we welcome new Scouts into the Troops. Scouts who participate in horseback riding will incur an additional surcharge of $70.
February 27-March 1, 2026
Camp Strake; Twin Bayou District Camporee
On Saturday morning you and your Patrol will compete against Scouts from other Troops in a series of Scout Skills contests (knots, fire building, etc.). On Saturday afternoon you will choose from a variety of fun activities (shooting sports, paddling, climbing and more).
April 10-12, 2026
Inks Lake State Park – Hill Country
Caving and Mountain Biking; Scouts will camp at Inks Lake State Park and choose between Mountain Biking at Spider Mountain (additional surcharge of $20), a walking tour of Longhorn Cavern State Park or a “wild” cave tour – get dirty and wet crawling through narrow tunnels on a more adventurous tour of Longhorn Cavern (additional surcharge of $80).

May 2-3, 2026
Big Thicket National Preserve and Village Creek State Park Paddling; Paddle through the beautiful cypress trees in the “Big Thicket” of East Texas; scouts will choose between primitive camping on a sandbar (no running water or flush toilets) or front-country camping at a nearby state park (with modern facilities). This campout runs from early Saturday morning to mid-day on Sunday and late arrivals/early departures cannot be accommodated.
